Jason FennJason Fenn

Jason Fenn joined Whitley Bay Theatre Company in the summer of 2003 after spotting an advert in the News Guardian advertising an upcoming production of "Allo Allo". Having last tread the boards at school, he didn't really know what to expect but was impressed by the friendliness and vibrancy of the group and joined up straightaway. He made his debut as Herr Flick of the Gestapo and was bitten by the performing bug as soon as he got his first laugh from the audience. His sister Lyndsey Fenn was also in this show, starring as 'Yvette'.

Jason teamed up with his sibling again in Whitley Bay Theatre Company's production of Jason and Lyndsey Fennanother TV sitcom classic "Are You Being Served?" playing the haughty Captain Peacock. A terrific ensemble cast made this show another great success for the society. Jason's line-learning ability was stretched to the limit in November 2004 when he stepped in at two weeks notice to play the lead role in the West End farce "Pardon Me Prime Minister".

Having proved his ability to hold centre stage in this production, Jason embarked on a mammoth seven shows in 2005. These included "Jean Valjean" in Tynemouth Priory Theatre's production of 'Les Miserables' and "Sergeant Wilson" in Whitley Bay Theatre Company's "Dad's Army". Jason Fenn as Basil Fawlty

Undoubtedly, Jason's 'tour de force' performance was as the manic hotelier "Basil Fawlty" in Whitley Bay Theatre Company's productions of 'Fawlty Towers' in 2006 and 2007. Jason was thrilled to portray one of his comedy heroes and believes that this will be his greatest ever role. He fondly remembers the spontaneous applause that broke out when he goose-stepped across the Playhouse stage in the classic 'Germans' scene. On the final night in 2007, Jason played to his largest ever crowd - 547 were rolling in the aisles!

Demonstrating versatility and panache, Jason portrayed the menacing gangster Micky Rale in Ayckbourn's 'Roleplay' in 2006. Jason has also played the Panto Dame twice in Tynemouth Priory Theatre's popular pantomimes - Widow Twankey this year and 'Dame Trot' in "Jack & The Beanstalk" in 2007.

Returning to the fold last summer, Jason discovered that the chairman & director Chris Johnson was a relation of his (so that's how he keeps getting the parts I hear you cry!). Subsequently he portrayed "Inspector Pratt" in 'Murdered to Death' in 2008.Jason Fenn as a Dame

In recent times, Jason met and became betrothed to his sweetheart, Emmeline Barnston. They are teaming up in 'Holiday Snap' as a couple having an illicit affair ...and exactly one week after the last night of the show, they will be Mr and Mrs Fenn!

So it promises to be a dramatic, enthralling and unique summer!
