Oliver Swinton

Oliver started acting from an early age, first appearing in Pantomimes written by his father David Swinton. He was first introduced to musicals early, performing Hans Christian Ansderson at his first year school play, in which he played the Lead. When he was eight Olie began taking dance lessons with Gillian Quinns School of Dance, leaning Ballet, Modern, Tap and Folk. With the dance schools sister company Dance Kelidoscope, Olie toured in Dance shows across Europe between 2002-2006. Olie joined Saturday Stage School at the age of ten, where he was taught acting, singing and additional dance movement. Through the Saturday Stage School Olie began to take acting more seriously, and was entered into the Rhyton Drama festival performing short plays.

Over the years Olie appeared in several productions with Whitley Bay Theatre Company, specificly Our Day Out, Wyrd Sisters, Allo Allo, Masquerade, Dads Army and See How They Run - directed by his mother Elizabeth Purcell. He is also a member of Whitley Bay Operatic Society, appearing in Scrooge, Anything Goes and Brigadoon as a dancer. He took his first main part in a musical with 7 Brides for 7 Brothers playing Gideon opposite girlfried Fraire Armstrong. Two years later he played Seymour in Whitley Bay Operatic Society's production of Little Shop of Horrors.
