Theatre Club Show

Have you heard of Rumours? Whitley Bay Theatre Company members are looking forward to their forthcoming production "Rumours" by award-winning Broadway playwright Neil Simon.

Several couples arrive for a celebratory dinner party at the home of a prominent government official in fashionable upper-class London. However, when they arrive they discover the hostess has vanished, the host has shot himself through the earlobe, and the servants have disappeared. Can the guests spare themselves and their host from social embarrassment and a potential scandal?

After a second accidental shot the police arrive asking questions - can any of the guests concoct an explanation? Possibly one more credible than anyone dared hope!

"Rumours" is a hilarious, laugh-a-minute, modern farce, superbly cast by seasoned director Chris Johnson, with familiar faces from the much loved amateur society, to name a few: Eddie Gorman ( Captain Mainwaring, Dad's Army), Lyndsey Fenn ( Miss Brahms, Are You Being Served), Dianne Greenwood (Mrs Slocombe, Are You Being Served), George Knox ( Pierre Marceau, Murdered to Death), and Roy Boulton ( Lord Melbury, Fawlty Towers)

"Rumours" is being staged at Tynemouth Piory Theatre, Tynemouth, from November 26 to 29, at 7.30 pm. Tickets are £7, available via the box office on 1670 531604, or reserve tickets online at: www.whitleybaytheatrecompany.com, or even just turn up on the night, said the show organisers this week.
